News about the Web3 Creator Economy
If you’re excited to be a part of the upgraded Creator Economy, welcome home!
We’ve heard enough about how Web 3 creator economy is much better for creators. But how do creators enter the space?
Other than NFTs, there are more ways for creators to enter this space. Some of them

Social media is the least talked about section in this category. I wonder if it is because we’ve lost all our trust in social networks.
But the way people are building in the new tech, the scope of better and decentralized social networks will still be enormous.
The ownership economy and woke creators will be more conscious about which platform they pick this time in the new economy.
I have previously talked about the Web 3 alternatives to the most popular social media platforms in the current world, but today I am narrowing it down to YouTUBE.
Here are the six decentralized alternatives of YouTube.
1. D.Tube
D.Tube represents the world’s first crypto-based video platform decentralized and built on the STEEM blockchain.
Views can find and upload all types of content on DTube. Integrating cryptocurrency incentives for watching, uploading, sharing, and commenting on videos has been made possible via the immutable STEEM blockchain.
It allows viewers to earn DTUB Ecoins, the native currency. In addition, the platform generates Voting Power (VP) for influencing video rankings and bandwidth (BW) for transacting on the blockchain and representing participants’ stake in the DTube DAO.
There are no algorithms for deciding which video will rank higher; every creator gets equal opportunity.
Users are allowed to reward content creators with cryptocurrency.
2. Odysee
One widely known decentralized video platform, Odysee, was launched in December 2020.
It has managed to for its user base because of free speech and clean user experience.
The platform hosts video content on the LBRY network.
The content is stored on the blockchain, and the platform can not delete the creator’s channels. There are no moderators, but the community takes supervises the governance.
Every creator and consumer of the platform is rewarded with tokens. The LBRY credits can be used to purchase digital content. The best part is that there is no censorship or ads.
3. AIOZ TUBE
AIOZ is an Ethereum token that powers Aioz Network. It is an L-1 blockchain enabling Ethereum and Cosmos interoperability.
The network aims to enable low transaction fees for dApps such as file storage, live streaming, content delivery, etc.
Aoiz Tube, built on the AOIZ blockchain, distributes video content in a decentralized way. It has Viewers Rewards for watching advertising displays and videos, allowing views to earn AIOZ Coin while on the platform.
The ad revenue is shared with the creator, allowing them to earn while creating videos for the platform. They call it Content Partners Rewards.
4. 3Speak
3Speak allows content creators to own their content assets and their communities directly.
The platform ensures the communities are directly connected to the creators they follow. Furthermore, blockchain tech allows creators to own this content and can therefore be transferable to other apps that use blockchain technology.
Creators can take the assets they have generated and move them to another app if they’re not satisfied with their services.
3Speak doesn’t censor, downvote, or delete creators’ videos like we’ve seen in many cases on YouTube.
Viewers are also rewarded in Hive tokens and can receive donations in their proprietary Speak token. The tokens come with tons of utility and provide more authority to the token holders in the platform’s governance.
5. Dlive
DLive is an American video live-streaming service founded in 2017 and purchased by BitTorrent in 2019.
The platform is mainly for live streamers and promises to empower creators and their communities through a revolutionary rewards system.
As with any decentralized platform, DLive puts ownership in the hands of the users and rewards them for their contribution towards the platform’s growth.
The system allows communities to benefit more from the cooperation, as seen in Web 2 social media. Yet it takes a 25% commission on all the transactions on the platform.
To get into DLive’s Partner Program, creators need to be on the platform for a minimum of 1 month and have at least 15 streams on their profile.
They include recurring subscriptions or a one-time gift they use in ecosystem development.
Community is crucial to their narrative, enabling members to stake their BBT tokens and earn Staking Rewards for daily contributions.
“I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” — Voltaire
With traditional platforms opposing censorship and limiting what we see online, it becomes essential to have a place where all our views are acceptable.
Decentralized platforms can do so while treating you like a co-owner and not a content machine.
If I had found these platforms sooner, I might have reached a stage where I had to delete my YouTube channel. But it’s not too late.
Find a platform that works for you and your audience, and start creating!
